More than a profession.

How many times have you given something to someone? If you can't remember, then I hope that was because you have given too much, that you can't even count it on. Giving is one thing that was taught to us even on our younger days. Everyone just know that it was something we should all do, no question about it. To give something such as food, gifts, toys,  clothes or even money is indeed a commendable thing to do. However, to give time, effort and love is on another level of being generous.

I have known a person who gave so much of herself to people who wasn't even her relatives. She was Ms. Jacqueline Orilla, 31 years old,  a caregiver in Cottolengo Filipino. She started off as an a volunteer in Cottolengo Filipino, a home for people who has disabilities. Ms. Jacqueline didn't just simply got with her job, she do had a struggle for she need to deal with people who have different needs. It may seem harder than usual jobs, but she managed to get along with it and eventually love what she was doing. Not only she loved her job but also the people she was serving for. She was asked if she would like to have another work aside from being a caregiver, she said that it was hard for her to leave a place where she found herself being the happiest with people she considered as family. To  work as a caregiver is more than anything to her, it was her second life, it was everything for her. Caregivers may seem under appreciated, but it doesn't matter for they do their work not to be praised, but to serve and satisfy what their hearts love doing the most. The world needs more of people like Ms. Jacqueline, who are willing to give their selves to help other people. Ms. Jacqueline taught us that you don't need to be family to help one another, sometimes people who are stranger to us could be someone who has the heart to lift us.

Being caregiver is not merely a profession, it was a passion and compassion. It's not that you would lend your hand for money, but because it was your heart who desires to make great things. We're are all going to leave soon, and I am sure that Ms. Jacqueline will leave something we won't forget. Leave the world with your story, make it memorable, make it worth the read.
